The lady is pregnant, and gives birth to a son in their tree house. The mother dies soon after. An ape enters the house and kills the father, and a female ape takes the tiny boy as a replacement for her own dead infant, and raises him as her son. Twenty years later, Captaine Phillippe D'Arnot discovers the man who thinks he is an ape. Evidence in the tree house leads him to believe that he is the direct descendant of the Earl of Greystoke, and thus takes it upon himself to return the man to civilization.

喀麦隆取景，非洲实景就是不一样。从小看人猿泰山小人书长大，我一直都很喜欢这个人物，这一版的改编我认为很成功，处处追求写实，娱乐性差了些，但对野性是否能够/应该被文明驯服的探讨引人思考。题外话，从现实中狼孩的例子看，泰山恢复成正常儿童的智力水平都不大可能。。。
很小的时候看的片子了，到现在都觉拍的还是相当真实的！
